Bruker Nano's Fluorescence Microscopy (FM) division is seeking a Customer Service Support Engineer. This position will be responsible for high level pre- and post-sales Service and Application support of Bruker Nano Surface’s Fluorescent Microscopy (FM) lightsheet (SPIM) products and accessories in North America region.
This role is responsible for customer instrumentation and application support including: installation, user training, instrument and applications diagnostics and on-site repair and provides in the field scientific applications support. Individual must be customer focused with a strong technical background enabling our customers to maintain their instrument at peak performance and maximize productivity for their intended use case.
The preferred location for the position is West, Midwest or East coast regions in the United States close to a major airport. Travel in North America regions will account for 60% of the time.
• Proven proficiency in high-end fluorescence microscopy, experience with light sheet (SPIM) systems is beneficial.
• Ability to test, troubleshoot and diagnose high-end optomechanical equipment
• Provide front line support for all our light-sheet systems by providing: Customer level instrument diagnostics and troubleshooting through remote support and direct on-site customer interaction.
• Provide pre/post sales technical service, training and general system support.
• Provide applications support to help sales team sell our light-sheet products.
• Product demonstrations – able to set-up and demo our products.
• Ability to help sell our USPs.
• Ability to attend and/or present at academic conferences/exhibitions and operate light-sheet systems at these events/workshops.
• Sharing best practice regarding instrument operation within Bruker global service/applications team.
• Other duties may be assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Understands the needs of life science customers, specifically in the field of high-end fluorescent microscopy applications.
• Capable to assist selling advanced technology instrumentation.
• Hands-on experience and knowledge troubleshooting software and system components in complex instrumentation - light-sheet experience (preferred).
• Hands-on experience and knowledge with lasers and other optical alignment of microscopy systems.
• Good communicator and experience consultative selling skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with MS office proficiency.
• Energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic and good problem solving skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically (and on occasion internationally) on short notice.
Education and/or Experience:
• Doctorate, PhD in Life Science discipline preferred or master’s degree with 2 years or Bachelor of Science in Engineering or hard sciences with 3 years, relevant experience. Other scientific degrees and experience history will be considered with significant credit being given to related light-sheet application or technology experience. Laser microscopy and laboratory experience highly desirable.
• Experience in use, design, assembly, and alignment of light-sheet systems.
• Current valid driving license (mandatory).
• Fluent in English (mandatory).
At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $64,800 and $113,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position.
