Bruker Nano has an opening for an Application Scientist based in our Eden Prairie, MN office. This position will function as the technical support for the sales team, running sample tests and serving as the expert. The customer will see this person as their continuous point of technical contact for Bruker's nano and micromechanical business unit. Verbal, presentation, and written communication are critical.
As part of the North America sales applications team you will lead sales applications activities principally in North America but also supporting sales opportunities worldwide. The position will be based in the nanoindentation / nanomechanical testing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for market growth and gaining market share through superior sample measurement, product demonstration, and demonstration of superior technical performance relative to the competition

Educational/Experience Requirements
The successful candidate will have extensive interest, knowledge, and background in nano and micromechanical testing, including indentation and scratch testing. They should have a solid theoretical foundation, with the ability to clearly explain how that helps non-experts in the field solve their problems. They should be intimately familiar with all common modes of operation on relevant instrumentation. Direct experience testing a wide variety of samples, and the ability to translate that into physical properties is a requirement. Knowledge of semiconductor related measurements are a bonus.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $64,000 and $113,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
