Responsibilities

• Manage the Nion electronics production group, interfacing with microscope production and R&D, and guiding a small group of electronics assemblers.
• Work with the procurement team to make sure that materials and components are available in time for the assembly and to gather production kits for outside suppliers.
• Supervise in-house production of prototype electronics, typically using surface mount components and embedded microprocessors.
• Improve documentation and test procedures to streamline production
• Ensure Quality of Product meets and exceeds Customer expectations. Ensure Quality records are maintained.
• Safety – Ensure a safe working environment in maintained.
• Attainment of Production Schedule and forecast on time and in full.
• Accurate and timely reporting of Key Performance Indicators.
• Takes corrective action when the team’s daily output does not meet requirements.
• Equipment – Manage and drive improvement in equipment reliability. Responsible for completion of all Preventative Maintenance requirements.
• Training – Ensure adequate cross training to cover vacation leave and other absences.
• Production Planning – Liaise closely with Purchasing and Customer Service and Shipping to ensure cut lists and material are available for planned schedule.
• Personnel – Direct responsibility for team members. Ensure adequate resource in place to run processes with break cover.

Qualifications

• Ability to read schematics and to solder is a must, ability to debug circuitry a key plus.
• Discerning eye for quality and efficiency is a must, board layout skills a valued plus.
• Above average mathematical skills required
• Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery. This is normally acquired through two to five years of manufacturing, with emphasis on electrical experience
• Attention to detail
• Problem solving
• Leadership; effectively supervise, train, and motivate employees
• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
• Self-motivated and self-starter
• Maintain confidentiality
• Above average computer skills

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $74,700 and $110,000 provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
