Canopy Biosciences is looking for a Scientist to join the team at the Hayward, California site. The successful candidate will play an important role in operational execution of various spatial genomics platforms and molecular biology technologies. The service projects conducted at the Hayward site include GeoMx, MERFISH, CosMx, FISH, nCounter, IHC, and nucleic acid extractions. The candidate will be expected to participate in experimental design, conduct experiments, maintain detailed records, analyze results, and help generate standard operating procedures. The candidate would be expected to mentor, develop, and manage junior associates. This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed and passionate team and be part of a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

 

• Managing and conducting service projects involving spatial biology technologies related to spatial protein and gene expression assays that encompass microscopy and nucleic acid analysis
• Designing and executing service projects, including data analysis and communications with customers regarding project progress and results.
• Training and managing junior associates as needed for successful and timely completion of service projects.
• Managing, monitoring, and maintaining equipment, facilities, and supplies as part of a team. This will include routine handling and lifting of laboratory supplies and bench-top equipment
• Working in a professional and collaborative manner with coworkers and customers
• Working on routine assignments as well as ones that are complex in nature and require considerable judgment, initiative, and creativity in resolving problems and making recommendations
• Helping to evaluate new technologies, instruments, and develop new service lines in collaboration with product management and marketing.
• Implement new technologies, develop SOP’s and establish workflows for routine application of the new technology.

 

Qualifications

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years lab experience is required
• Experience in histology, microscopy or genomics technologies is preferred
• Experience with analysis of large and complex data sets is a plus
• Proficient in routine molecular techniques used in proteomic and gene expression analysis
• Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented setting
• Strong attention to detail

 

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $101,000 and $164,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
