Responsibilities

New hybrid opportunity based in Billerica, Massachusetts for a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join the Corporate Finance Team. Reporting to the Manager of SEC/ External Reporting, the Senior External Reporting Accountant is a key member of the Finance team with primary responsibility for the management and preparation of SEC and other financial regulatory filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K and the annual Proxy. 

  • Actively participate in the preparation of financial data utilized in the preparation and review of periodic SEC 10-Q, 10-K; 8-K and definitive proxy statement filings
  • Assist in maintaining filing projects in Active Disclosure. 
  • Works closely with FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, business units, senior management, and other external parties (attorneys, auditors) to accurately prepare and timely file SEC documents.  
  • Assist in preparation of the consolidated financial statements, footnotes and disclosures and documentation including but not limited to: Segment reporting, pension,  AOCI roll forward review, embedded derivatives, forward contracts, other charges, earnings per share analysis etc.
  • Assist in preparation of equity award disclosures, including stock based compensation and prepare required workpapers to comply with internal controls.
  • Support quarterly earnings release process and PowerPoint presentation materials to Audit Committee and executive management
  • Assist with non-GAAP reporting with business units and entities.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across SEC filings, press releases, and investor presentations on a quarterly basis.
  • Prepare various quarterly and ad-hoc reports in a timely and accurate manner for review.
  • Collaborate to ensure all reports comply with applicable FASB and SEC regulations, professional standards, and organization policies. 
  • Prepare and assist with applicable government surveys and compliance forms.
  • Research and summarize various accounting and SEC reporting issues and questions that arise at the corporate and group levels.
  • Prepare relevant workpapers to support the quarterly review of leases and document related internal controls.
  • Assist with managing the relationship with the external auditors and the completion of the annual audit and quarterly reviews.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance and testing of the Company’s finance and accounting control policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Corporate Finance Team in driving internal control initiatives
  • Performing special financial and other ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Work effectively across the Company's functional organizations. 
  • Promote effective lateral communication and coordination across groups, both internal and external to the Finance function, to improve efficiency and achieve desired results. 
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred. 
  • Minimum 5-7 years Accountant work experience including direct experience in Corporate Finance and Accounting. Big Four accounting/audit work experience preferred. CPA preferred.
  • Advanced experience with MS Office products - Excel, PowerPoint, Word proficiency.
  • SAP and consolidation software (such as BPC, Hyperion Infor) and Active Disclosure work experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of Finance and Accounting
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of Finance and Accounting including but not limited to US accounting regulations, SEC regulations, and Company accounting policies and practices with unquestioned integrity in the application of such standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and details effectively with the ability to manage non-negotiable timelines.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of individuals, both inside and outside the company, in a professional manner demonstrating effective verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, computer, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Operates with the highest standard of ethics, integrity, and professionalism
  • Valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
  • Ability to maintain a valid passport with flexibility for travel.
  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
