We have a new opportunity to join our dynamic Madison team as a Manufacturing Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for mechanical, optical and/or electrical component assembling tasks for Optical Microscopes for life science imaging applications. This position will work closely with final system QA/QC and manufacturing engineering teams to successfully deliver quality products and subassemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Build and integrate sub-assemblies instructions and assembly drawings
  • Build and integrate sub-assemblies instructions and assembly drawings
  • Test assemblies and sub-systems by running electrical/mechanical tests on devices to ensure standards are achieved
  • Execute written SOPs and work instructions
  • Debug assemblies or systems in cooperation with production team or engineering
  • Work with manufacturing engineering to alter/improve assembly instructions
  • Small/intricate assembly tasks
  • Maintain a clean work environment

Qualifications

  • Experience using of basic mechanical tools and electrical testing tools required
  • Good mechanical and electronic aptitude required, along with exposure to a variety of hand/mechanical tools
  • Basic familiarity with a personal computer
  • Familiarity with reading assembly drawings to build assemblies
  • Candidates must have an eye for detail and capable of following precise instructions
  • Must be flexible and adaptable, as many jobs require learning by doing; successful candidates will be expected to learn new processes as needed
  • Ability to lift 25-30 lbs. regularly, 50 lbs. occasionally

 

Additional consideration given for:

  • Knowledge of electrical testing with oscilloscopes and signal generator
  • Experience working with optical components (mirror and lens systems)
  • Experience with small part assembly
  • Technician or other related associate degree
