NanoString, a Bruker subsidiary, is seeking an energetic and highly motivated Biostatistics Analyst to join the Data Analysis Services Team within Customer Experience. This team member will be responsible for supporting the data analysis services (DAS) for the nCounter platform and spatial biology platforms at NanoString by performing analyses for customers, creating new solutions to simplify processes, and managing customer projects. This role will work closely with the commercial and support teams to manage customer interactions and ensure timely resolution to unique customer data analysis challenges, while ensuring data and analytical code integrity.

Responsibilities

This individual is expected to manage customer projects, serving as the point of contact as well as performing the analysis and discussing the results as needed. The ideal analyst will enjoy working directly with customers, creating novel insights through analysis, and improving processes with new code. The work is highly cross-functional and will require coordinating with sales, customers, finance, R&D, and customer experience personnel.


• Work directly with customers to address data analysis challenges, managing project life cycle from intake through result return
• Provide technical support and education for data analysis issues
• Interpret and present results within the context of the biological question and implications for a given project
• Present results to technical and non-technical audiences; participate in scientific discussions
• Maintain well annotated code and detailed records of analyses
• Utilize and maintain a complex R codebase

Qualifications

This role requires a background in biological interpretation of high-plex molecular data, skills in computation, algorithm development or application, and a history of engagement within the scientific community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data analysis and visualization, and a commitment to supporting a community of researchers within and outside of NanoString.


• MS in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Genomics, or related field with 0-2 years of additional experience. 
• Experience analyzing multi-omics datasets such as transcriptomics or proteomics with standard biostatistical methodologies and bioinformatics software tools
• Proficiency in R required, other scripting languages nice to have
• Experience with code versioning best practices and tools, such as git
• Domain knowledge within a relevant biological area (oncology, immunology, etc) required
• Excellent organizational skills, and good time management practices; ability to communicate timelines and meet deadlines
• Ability to work both independently and as member of a project team
• Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Ability to listen and understand customer questions, issues, and concerns, both technical and operational
• Strong communication skills; ability to summarize scientific data for an expert and non-expert audience

 

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $74,000 and $118,000  and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
